9ice was the last headlining act to perform at this year's Lagos Jazz Series and talk about saving the best for last. 9ice brought the house down! When he got on stage he started with a jazz rendering of Street Credibility which was very well received. After that 9ice did something only a few Nigerian artists can do. Having a wide catalogue of hit songs, 9ice took song requests from the audience for the remainder of his time on stage. As a man of the people, he took 2 song requests from the fellas and 2 from the ladies. Concert goers who were seated during all the other performances got on their feet and came to the front of the stage to sing along to the one and only Adigun Alapomeji's hits. And boy did he dance! 9ice probably danced more than half the people in the audience.
I was also very impressed with 9ice's delivery. He didn't come off arrogant or uncomfortable having been out of the limelight for a little while or because he was performing in front of a 'different' crowd. Instead he was cool, level headed, articulate and VERY energetic. It was pure quality!
Still humble, still driven, still 9ice...
Was 9ice singing jazz with those dance moves??
ReplyDeleteLol. Good question Lanre. After he did a mellow jazz version of Street credibility, he went back to being the 9ice we all know and love. I think that's when these pictures were taken. Thanks for visiting and thanks for the comment/question.
