Portrait photoshoot with Pastor Femi Enigbokan

A couple of weeks ago I had a creative photoshoot with an old friend of mine, Femi Enigbokan. Femi's an HR professional and the Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God's parish, The Rock Centre (fondly referred to as TRC) in Ojodu.
During the shoot I shot solely with manual settings in an attempt to better familiarize myself with the style of shooting. It was a lounge set up with lots of ambient light coming into the room through a large window. (I guess it was also a lesson on the use of natural/window light). Anyway the shoot went well and then I really went to town with photoshop and post production as you can see from the images below. Hope you like 'em. Chrs.

9ice performing at The Lagos Jazz Series

9ice was the last headlining act to perform at this year's Lagos Jazz Series and talk about saving the best for last. 9ice brought the house down! When he got on stage he started with a jazz rendering of Street Credibility which was very well received. After that 9ice did something only a few Nigerian artists can do. Having a wide catalogue of hit songs, 9ice took song requests from the audience for the remainder of his time on stage. As a man of the people, he took 2 song requests from the fellas and 2 from the ladies. Concert goers who were seated during all the other performances got on their feet and came to the front of the stage to sing along to the one and only Adigun Alapomeji's hits. And boy did he dance! 9ice probably danced more than half the people in the audience.
I was also very impressed with 9ice's delivery. He didn't come off arrogant or uncomfortable having been out of the limelight for a little while or because he was performing in front of a 'different' crowd. Instead he was cool, level headed, articulate and VERY energetic. It was pure quality!
Still humble, still driven, still 9ice...

Black Magic (and I-con) performing at the Lagos Jazz Series

Fast rising rapper Black magic performed his song 'Rainbows' and was later joined by I-con to perform Bad Star. Black Magic and The 3 Wise Men have massive cross over appeal and they're definitely going places.

Praiz performing at The Lagos Jazz Series

Soulful singer Praiz sang a couple of ballads at The Lagos Jazz Series. There are no pictures to prove it but the ladies thoroughly enjoyed his set.

When Venus & Serena came to town...

So sometime in late September I heard that the Williams sister would be coming to Nigeria and I was super excited. For those of you that don't know, I'm sort of a tennis fan (I say sorta because deep down within me I know that I'm really watching 'çause of the hot ladies in tennis:). Anyway, the Williams sisters visited the Ikoyi 1938 club on Wednesday the 31st of October for a tennis clinic with over 400 kids between the ages of 8 and 18 to empower them and teach them a few things. It was really cool and quite heart warming at certain points. Here are some of the images. Look out for CNN's Nigeria Correspondent Vladimir as well as Kelechi Amadi Obi and a very lucky little girl that got to 'hold' Serena. Videos coming soon by the way. P/s: Shout out to my home girl Bolanle for keeping me company that day.
